Tim Walz, the Governor of Minnesota, has been happily married to his wife, Gwen, since 1994.
Gwen Walz, Minnesota’s 39th First Lady, hails from Glencoe, Minnesota, and is a graduate of Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter and Minnesota State University in Mankato.
Her passion lies in education and advocacy, as she has worked tirelessly to address issues of equity and access within the education system.
The couple shares two children, Hope and Gus, who were born in 2001 and 2006, respectively.
Tim and Gwen have been candid about their fertility struggles and the role that IVF played in expanding their family.
Tim took to Facebook in February 2024 to express his gratitude for reproductive health care like IVF, sharing their personal experience and advocating for others facing similar challenges.
After residing in Mankato for many years, Tim, Gwen, and their children now call St. Paul home. On August 6, 2024, Vice President Kamala Harris announced that Tim Walz would be her running mate in the 2024 presidential election.
With his background in public service and dedication to Minnesota, Tim’s values align with Harris’s vision for the future.
