Afi Amoro, the Chief Executive Officer of Jandel Ltd., recently shared how her mother’s love for gardening inspired her to pursue a career in floral curation and event organisation.
In an interview on Joy Prime’s Prime Morning show, she recounted how she used to gather flowers from her mother’s garden and arrange them as gifts for her boss when she worked as a secretary.
What started as a hobby soon turned into a business opportunity when her boss’s friend expressed interest in her floral arrangements and was willing to pay for them.
Amoro credits two individuals, Bebako Mensah and the late Vice President Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, for helping her realize her potential in the floral industry.
Despite not having formal training as a florist, Amoro dedicated herself to learning more about floral arrangements to meet the demands of her customers.
Jandel Ltd. has established itself as a leading brand in event organisation in Ghana, with 29 years of experience in event design and art curation.
Amoro’s passion for impacting people’s lives through her craft drives her to continue enhancing her skills and leaving a lasting legacy.
“I want to leave a mark that will inspire others to enhance their skills and contribute to society, the nation, and Africa as a whole,” Amoro expressed in the interview.
Through her dedication and vision, Afi Amoro has transformed her love for flowers into a successful business that continues to thrive in the event organisation industry.
