Ghanaian artist and Tsadidi Street Art Festival founder, Glenn Samm, has shared his experience of being arrested during the ‘StopGalamseyNow’ protest.
In an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz, Glenn talked about the lessons he learned from his time in police custody, emphasizing the importance of staying calm and composed in any situation.
Glenn explained that he was not even participating in the protest when he was arrested. He was simply sitting at a bus stop near the El Wak Sports Stadium when the police picked him up.
Despite facing uncomfortable situations during his 16-day detention in three different police cells in Accra, Glenn remained calm and collected.
The arrest of Glenn and 52 others during the protest sparked outrage among Ghanaians who believed that the punishment was excessive. However, Glenn and other protesters were eventually granted bail after spending about two weeks in remand.
