Hulu’s latest true crime miniseries, “Under the Bridge,” is set to premiere on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, based on the late Rebecca Godfrey’s nonfiction work. The eight-episode series will delve into the tragic murder of Canadian teenager Reena Virk and the shocking events that followed.

Reena Virk, a 14-year-old girl from Saanich, British Columbia, desired acceptance from her peers despite being seen as an “outsider” at her school. In 1997, she was invited to a party near the Craigflower Bridge, where she was brutally attacked by a group of teenagers known as “The Shoreline Six.” After being beaten and thrown into the water, Virk’s body was found washed ashore days later.

The series follows the investigation into Virk’s murder through the eyes of writer Rebecca Godfrey and police detective Cam Bentland. Godfrey’s book, which the series is based on, won British Columbia’s National Award for Canadian Non-Fiction in 2006 and has received recognition from various publications.
