Gospel singer Empress Gifty has shared her views on how she would handle being the wife of a Member of Parliament. According to her, many MPs’ wives are not taking advantage of the opportunities and responsibilities that come with their husband’s position.
In an interview on Joy Prime’s Changes show with Roselyn Felli, Empress Gifty mentioned that being an MP’s wife comes with numerous obligations that can be utilized for the benefit of the community. She expressed her desire to inspire other MP wives to be more proactive in their roles.
When asked why she has not been accompanying her husband on the campaign trail, Empress Gifty explained that she has chosen to support him through prayers as her role as a musician differs from his as a politician. She emphasized the importance of focusing on her career to support her husband financially.
While she has no regrets about not physically being present on the campaign trail, Empress Gifty expressed confidence in the possibility of becoming an MP or President’s wife in the future. She encouraged others not to be surprised when that day comes.
Empress Gifty has been married to prominent Ghanaian politician Hopeson Adorye for five years and they have two children together. This union followed her divorce from Prophet Elisha Osei.
