GTA commissions first phase of Accra Leisure and Recreational Park project

The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) in collaboration with partners from the Klottey Korley Assembly and the Osu Traditional Council have officially opened the first phase of the Accra Leisure and Recreational Park, also known as Geese Park.

This park boasts a variety of modern facilities including a snack shop, a restaurant, an event center, a children’s playground, a zoo, and a skating park, providing a range of activities for visitors to enjoy.

Situated in the Osu enclave, the Geese Park will be linked to the Asomdwoee Park, adding to the tourist attractions in the area.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by key officials from the tourism sector, including former Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Andrew Egyapa Mercer, CEO of GTA Seth Adjei Baah, and other notable figures.

The former Tourism Minister highlighted the significance of this milestone for Ghana and commended GTA’s efforts in promoting tourism under the leadership of CEO Akwasi Agyeman.

Akwasi Agyeman expressed GTA’s vision of utilizing tourism to showcase Ghana’s rich culture and history.

Collaborating with the Ministry of Tourism and other organizations, GTA has been involved in various redevelopment projects, including the Kwame Nkrumah Museum, The Nationalism Park, and now the Geese Park.
