Maame Efua Houadjeto, the newly-appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), has outlined her plans to enhance the tourism sector in Ghana.
In an interview with Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z, Maame Efua expressed her readiness to contribute to the growth of the industry.
Acknowledging the positive impact of her predecessor, Kwasi Agyeman, Maame Efua admitted feeling pressure to live up to his legacy.
She emphasized her background in marketing, events, and hospitality, as well as her experience in journalism and running a company focused on cruise tourism, as strengths she brings to the role.
Reflecting on her husband and friend’s tour company, Royal Protocol Services, Maame Efua highlighted their successful collaboration with Sun Seekers in hosting Ghana’s first cruise ship.
She expressed pride in her past achievements in the tourism sector.
Taking over from Kwasi Agyeman, Maame Efua praised his support and looks forward to building upon the foundation he laid.
