Fitness, health, and behavioral coach, Barima Osei Asare, has made a bold statement suggesting that women who fail to greet their husbands with respect may be committing a form of abuse.
In an interview with Nathaniel Attoh on Joy Prime’s Prime Morning show, he emphasized that abuse is not limited to physical violence but also includes improper behavior in everyday interactions between couples.
Asare highlighted the importance of showing respect through simple gestures like greeting, hugging, and serving food to one’s partner. He explained that these small acts, when done improperly, can lead to emotional abuse, which is often overlooked in discussions about abuse.
Moreover, Asare pointed out the lack of support systems for men who experience abuse, leading to underreporting and increased mortality rates among men. He called for society to do better in addressing men’s issues and providing resources for men who are victimized.
As International Men’s Day approaches on 19th November, Asare urged men to prioritize their own well-being and mental health. He emphasized the importance of self-care and encouraged men to be open about their emotional challenges and seek support from others.
