Tyson Fury’s highly anticipated fight against Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight titles has been postponed due to a bad cut above Fury’s right eye sustained during sparring earlier this month.

The original date of February 17 was scrapped, but the fighters are now set to face off on Saturday, May 18.

Usyk, who missed the birth of his daughter to focus on training for Fury, is looking to add the WBC title to his collection of WBA, WBO, IBF, and Ring Magazine belts. The two have been on a collision course for 18 months, following Usyk’s victory over Anthony Joshua in August 2022.

Fury, who recently faced Francis Ngannou in a tough battle, is now facing another setback with the postponement. Usyk, on the other hand, is determined to make history by becoming the first man to win undisputed titles in both cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions.

The fight is set to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with the main event ring-walks expected to start around 11pm BST. Fans in the UK can watch the fight on TNT Sports Box Office, Sky Sports Box Office, and DAZN PPV.

The undercard for the Fury vs Usyk fight includes several exciting matchups, such as Jai Opetaia vs Mairis Briedis for the vacant IBF cruiserweight title. Both fighters have expressed their disappointment over the postponement but remain focused on their training and preparation for the rescheduled date.

Fury apologized to everyone affected by the delay and is determined to come back stronger once his eye has healed.

The fight promises to be a thrilling showdown between two of the best heavyweights in the world, with the winner likely to set up a mega-bout against Anthony Joshua in the future.
