Ghanaian.com – Fourth of July is a much-anticipated celebration in America, with fireworks being a major part of the festivities. This year, despite the ongoing pandemic, people can still enjoy the iconic Macy’s Fourth of July fireworks show virtually, through streaming services.
The 48th edition of the Macy’s Fourth of July fireworks show will illuminate the skyline above the Hudson River, spanning across New York and New Jersey. Those unable to witness the spectacle in person can tune in to NBC on Thursday, July 4, 2024, or stream it live on Peacock.
The televised event, starting at 8 pm ET, will feature live performances from top musical talents such as Amber Mark, Brandy Clark, Lainey Wilson, Luis Fonsi, Mickey Guyton, Tanner Adell, and The War and Treaty. Country artist Mickey Guyton will also be co-hosting the event with Zuri Hall.
For those in New York City and New Jersey, there are various locations where the fireworks display can be seen. In Manhattan, viewers can head to spots between West 14th and West 34th Streets near the Hudson River. Across the Hudson River, places like Hoboken’s Pier A Park, Maxwell Place Park, Stevens Park, and Elysian Park provide clear views of the fireworks.
Fireworks have been a significant part of Fourth of July celebrations since 1777, commemorating the day the Declaration of Independence was signed. The tradition of celebrating independence with fireworks continues to be cherished by Americans to this day.
