CEO of JL Properties and Executive Chairman of JL Holdings, Dr James Condua Orleans-Lindsay, has been named the Man of the Year at the 9th EMY Africa Awards.
The prestigious awards ceremony, held on Sunday, honored distinguished men from various sectors who have made significant contributions to society in fields such as industry, community, culture, and public service.
Guests attending the event showcased their best attire as they gathered to celebrate and acknowledge the hard work of individuals who have positively impacted society.
The night was filled with exceptional performances, including an energetic set by Nigerian musician Chike and a crowd-pleasing performance by Ghana’s Becca. The audience was also treated to a lively dance session led by KiDi, the hitmaker of ‘Lomo Lomo‘.
A total of twenty-three awards were presented to deserving individuals, with South African legendary actor, Dr Tata John Kani, receiving the esteemed Lifetime Achievement Award. The event also highlighted the achievements of women, with Valerie Larbi being celebrated as Woman of the Year.
The highlight of the evening was when Dr James Condua Orleans-Lindsay was named the Man of the Year, expressing his gratitude for the recognition alongside his family, friends, and staff.
Attendees commended the organizers for their efforts in celebrating the contributions of men, with Executive Director of EMY Africa, Kojo Soboh, promising even greater things for the 10th edition of the awards.
Other notable awardees included Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy, who won the Man of the Year Music category, former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah, honored with the Continental Sports Icon Award, and BuzStopBoys, who clinched the Discovery of the Year award.
