The DJ Mensah Foundation, established by renowned Ghanaian DJ Michael Ayenu Mensah, has made a significant contribution to education by donating school desks and learning materials to Akokoase AEDA School, located in the Central Region of Ghana.
This generous donation took place on May 14, 2025, with the support of various partners, including blogger Kobby Kyei, Avanni, Perfumebase, Pappaz Frozen Meat Market, Angel and Publishing Limited, and Priscilla from the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC).
As part of the initiative, Angel and Publishing Limited provided books for the students, while Perfumebase donated perfumes for the teachers. Pappaz Frozen Meat Market contributed foodstuffs, and Avanni was responsible for crafting the desks.
During a ceremony at the school, DJ Mensah expressed his gratitude, stating, “It’s a true honor to be here today on behalf of the DJ Mensah Foundation. This moment is significant for us—not just because we’re donating desks, but because we are passionate about education and committed to creating a supportive and comfortable learning environment.”
He highlighted the challenges faced by Akokoase AEDA School and emphasized the necessity of taking action to support the students. “No child should struggle to learn due to a lack of proper seating,” he noted.
DJ Mensah added, “Although these desks may appear to be a small gesture, we hope they inspire greater focus in the classroom, increase pride in the school, and strengthen belief in the future.”
He extended his gratitude to the teachers and staff, recognizing their dedication, and reassured students that they are valued and their aspirations matter.
