The Ghanaian community is mourning the loss of Reverend George Owusu-Mensah, the Head Pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Amakom, Kumasi.
Reverend Owusu-Mensah, known for his popular gospel song “M’atwen Awurade Anim” (“A Wait on God”), passed away at dawn on Sunday, as confirmed by Rev. Mrs. Mary Fosu, Senior Associate Pastor of the church.
Reverend Owusu-Mensah was not only a minister but also a talented gospel musician who used his music to express his deep faith and spread messages of hope, love, and redemption. His song, “M’atwen Awurade Anim,” continues to inspire optimism and steadfast faith within the Christian community.
Throughout his life, Reverend Owusu-Mensah dedicated himself to offering spiritual guidance, counseling, and leadership to his congregation. His uplifting lyrics, soulful melodies, and heartfelt performances made his music a powerful tool for evangelism, outreach, and community building.
Reverend George Owusu-Mensah was the elder brother of Prof. Rita Akosua Dickson, Vice-Chancellor of KNUST, and the father of Kofi Owusu Peprah, who is also a gospel musician.
