History is being made as stakeholders in the creative industry gather at the Joy Prime studio in Kokomlemle for the 5th edition of Joy FM’s Showbiz Roundtable.
This event, titled “MANIFESTO DEBATE ON CREATIVE ECONOMY,” will be broadcast live on Joy FM and Joy Prime on September 14, 2024, from 2 PM to 6 PM.
The manifesto debate will feature representatives from the two major political parties, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP), discussing their manifesto policy ideas for tourism, arts, and culture.
Baba Sadiq, the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Okaikoi Central Constituency, will represent the National Democratic Congress. He is a media and communications specialist with over 20 years of experience in the African media and communications sustainability industries.
Rex Owusu Marfo, a member of the NDC Manifesto Committee, will also speak for the NDC. Rex is a prominent musician and management professional specializing in intellectual property rights.
From the New Patriotic Party, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mark Okraku-Mantey, will participate in the debate. Mark has played key roles in Ghana’s music, film, and media sectors and was the acting Creative Arts Council President.
Akwasi Agyeman, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), will also represent the NPP at the event. The GTA is the lead public service agency responsible for regulating tourism in Ghana.
Francis Doku, the Chief Operations Officer of Plugin Digital Limited, will deliver the keynote address. He is a well-known figure in the Ghanaian marketing communications and media industry with over two and a half decades of experience.
The program will be hosted and moderated by Kwame Dadzie, an entertainment journalist with The Multimedia Group. Kwame is renowned for his progressive stories and think pieces on the creative economy and has been instrumental in advocating for the cultural and creative industries.
