The CEO of Genet Services and organizer of the annual all-women gospel concert, Women in Worship, Gina Ella Nettey, recently opened up about why the event did not take place in 2023.

In an interview on Joy Prime’s Prime Morning show with Asieduwaa Akumia, she revealed that the passing of her husband just months before the event led her to postpone it due to the trauma she was experiencing.

She expressed, “Last year, Women in Worship didn’t happen because I lost my beloved husband. When things like this happen to you, death also decides to create an avenue to bring you setbacks and a whole lot of things that I can’t describe.”

Not only did she have to cope with the loss of her husband, but her logistics were also destroyed, along with her tracks. Despite these challenges, she remained hopeful, placing her trust in God to bring about a positive change.

Gina Ella Nettey emphasized that material possessions are insignificant in comparison to faith and belief in God, stating, “They’re all material things. If we rest on him and believe in him, He’ll compensate you.”

Her personal hardships have inspired the theme for the 2024 edition of Women in Worship, titled ‘The Rehoboth Experience’. The upcoming event is set to take place on Sunday, September 22nd at the Oil Dome (Royal House Chapel International).

The seventh edition of Women in Worship will feature prominent Nigerian gospel artists Mercy Chinwo and Ada Ehi, as well as Ghanaian ministers such as Diana Hamilton and Empress Gifty.

Additionally, an all-female group called Team Eternity, comprising Efe Grace, Lordina the Soprano, and other female gospel musicians, will also be performing.

Despite the challenges faced in the previous year, Gina Ella Nettey is determined to make the 2024 edition of Women in Worship bigger and better than ever before.
