Kofi Nti and Ofori Amponsah, the Ghanaian music duo behind the hit song ‘Odo Nwom’, have recently made headlines for a copyright infringement case that has turned in their favor.

The song, released in 2010, caught the attention of American actor and film producer Tyler Perry, who used it in a scene for his television series ‘Tyler Perry Sistas’.

This led to speculation among Ghanaian music enthusiasts about possible copyright violations.

However, in a recent interview with Onua TV, Kofi Nti revealed that he and Ofori Amponsah were compensated by Tyler Perry for using their song. The duo had legal representation in the United Kingdom who negotiated a deal on their behalf.

“I did that song with Ofori Amponsah. We have a lawyer in the UK; he contacted the team, so negotiations and everything went well. So, we have solved the issue; a little money was involved,” Kofi Nti stated.

Known for their collaborations on songs like ‘Atwetaan, Bra, Wake Up, Monica,’ and many others, Kofi Nti and Ofori Amponsah have now resolved the copyright issue with Tyler Perry.
