A group of daring adventurers known as Wanderlust Ghana, who have been on a series of epic expeditions to promote tourism in Ghana, recently encountered a setback during their trip to Dubai.
The team, supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture and the Ghana Tourism Authority, had their car broken into by thieves in Krefeld, Germany.
This unfortunate incident occurred on the 13th day of their journey to the Arab country.
The robbers targeted a vehicle, a Tacoma, that was being used for the adventure and made off with various items, including a passport belonging to one of the team members.
In a Facebook post by group member Kwame Peprah, he shared the details of the theft and mentioned that the team had to report the incident to the authorities.
He expressed concerns about the impact this could have on the trip, especially for the team member whose passport and visa were stolen.
Peprah explained, “If Kwame’s passport was in the car, I’m sure we can get a new one issued at the embassy in Berlin but the trip may be over for him because the other visas needed along the route will not be easy to reissue.”
The team is currently working on resolving the situation and ensuring that they can continue their journey successfully.
