Team Hubes Dance Crew emerge winners of Ghana DanceSport League 2024

Team Hubes Dance Crew emerged victorious in the first-ever Ghana DanceSport League, held on Saturday, October 5, 2024. The competition took place at the Street Dance Fiesta of the 10th Ghana Dance Festival at Alliance Francaise.

Competing against other dance crews such as United Kings Academy, 4Bent Dance Crew, Asa Academy, Flames Dance Company, and BAS Academy, Team Hubes Dance Crew showcased their skills and talent to claim the top spot.

The DanceSport League featured a presentation style format where each crew performed their own routines, with judges evaluating them based on creativity, teamwork, execution, and showmanship.

In the final stages of the competition, Team Hubes Dance Crew faced off against United Kings Academy in a thrilling showdown, ultimately clinching the title.

Team Hubes, representing Korle Gonno in Accra, took home a cash prize of 4,000 cedis for their remarkable performance. United Kings Academy from Abesim in Sunyani secured the second spot and won 2,000 cedis, while 4Bent Dance Crew representing Dansoman in Accra claimed the third-place prize of 1,000 cedis.

The esteemed panel of judges for the DanceSport League included dance champions Adjetey Sowah and Dr. Terry Bright Ofosu, along with Yvonne ‘Laladzy’ Okyere, the CEO of Flawless Dance Studio. The event was hosted by Mickie Flex, a renowned dancer with vast experience in the industry.

Founder Robert Klah expressed his excitement for the future of dance as a sport in Ghana, emphasizing the importance of creating opportunities for dance athletes to showcase their skills on a larger platform.

The success of the Ghana DanceSport League paves the way for the upcoming Ghana DanceSport School League, catering to the amateur dance community and fostering talent development.

The Street Dance Fiesta of the 10th Ghana Dance Festival featured a diverse range of performances from top dance groups and talents, including DWP Academy, Millitantz Dance Family, Arenees Dance Crew, and more.
