Stonebwoy, the renowned Ghanaian musical artiste, added yet another feather to his cap as he was honoured with the prestigious EMY Africa Man of the Year – Music Award.
This accolade, presented at the 9th EMY Africa Awards 2024, solidifies his position as a highly decorated voice and influential figure in the African music scene.
The event, which took place on November 24 at the Grand Arena, Accra, brought together dignitaries, industry heavyweights, and trailblazers from across the continent to celebrate outstanding achievements and excellence in various fields.
Stonebwoy, also known as Livingstone Etse Satekla, was commended for his exceptional contributions to music in Africa and for maintaining a remarkable level of consistency and prolificacy in the industry.
He was praised for his Ghana-centric artistry, which beautifully represents the rich cultural heritage of the nation while resonating with audiences beyond its borders.
This is not the first time Stonebwoy has been recognised at the EMY Africa Awards. In 2021, he received his inaugural Man of The Year – Music Award for his groundbreaking achievements in the music industry.
The past year has been incredibly successful for Stonebwoy, marked by the release of several hit songs and his Billboard-rated album, 5TH DIMENSION. He headlined over 90 shows in various regions, earning him a staggering 20 awards in 2024 and making him the most-awarded Ghanaian artist of the year.
His accolades include multiple wins at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), where he clinched seven awards, including the esteemed Artiste of the Year title, as well as recognition at the IRAWMA Awards.
In addition to his musical triumphs, Stonebwoy also engaged in impactful community outreach and charity initiatives through The Livingstone Foundation (TLF).
Recently, Stonebwoy announced a series of North American tour dates in support of his album ‘UP & RUNNIN6’, starting in February next year. This follows the revelation of a one-night show at the iconic O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London, UK, scheduled for March 8, 2025.
The tour will see the multi-award-winning artist perform songs from the October 2024 album across various cities in the United States and Canada.
‘UP & RUNNIN6’ marks a return to Stonebwoy’s roots, showcasing his signature Afro-Caribbean sound while blending elements of Afrobeat, Dancehall, Reggae, Highlife, Amapiano, and R&B.
The album delves into themes of introspection, romance, spirituality, and empowerment, highlighting the artist’s versatility and compelling vocal presence.
