The Medimafo Western Music Awards (WMA) of 2024 was a night to remember as the Western Region of Ghana celebrated its exceptional musical talent and creativity.
This event, held at the GPHA Auditorium in Takoradi on the 21st of September, showcased the best and brightest in the region’s music industry.
Under the theme “Diversity in Peace,” the awards ceremony organized by Westline Entertainment highlighted the rich blend of musical genres that make up the Western Region’s unique soundscape.
The night was filled with electrifying performances and recognition for outstanding contributions to the music scene.
One of the standout stars of the evening was SK Frimpong, who took home three major awards including Artiste of the Year, Gospel Artiste of the Year, and Songwriter of the Year for his inspiring song “Faithful God.”
Kofi Kinaata’s hit song “Effiakuma Love” won the Most Popular Ghanaian Song of the Year, while Ewuraba Eesi’s track earned her the Western Regional Most Popular Song of the Year accolade.
The awards also celebrated the diversity of music genres, with Fameye winning the Highlife Artiste of the Year award, Nero X clinching the Highlife Song of the Year, and Bobo Dada B and BlaQ Mic taking home the Hiplife Artiste and Song of the Year awards respectively.
Other notable winners included Mrr Cloudy, Walley Bonsu, Naomi Assani, Ayesem, Jakebeat Gh, and Kobby Yankey.
The event was graced by prominent personalities such as Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Arthur, Nana Egya Kwamina XI, Fiifi Buckman, Mr. Johnson Assasie, and Mr. Justice Acquah, who all came together to celebrate the region’s musical talent.
