Reggae and dancehall artiste Ras Kuuku has his eyes set on the Gospel Song of the Year award at this year’s Telecel Ghana Music Awards.
In a recent interview on Daybreak Hitz with DJ Slim, Ras Kuuku expressed his desire to be nominated in the gospel song category, in addition to the reggae/dancehall and male vocalist categories.
Despite not being a gospel musician, Ras Kuuku believes that his music is eligible for the award and is confident that it can compete in any genre.
The Telecel Ghana Music Awards typically limits the gospel song categories to only gospel artists. The ‘Best Gospel Song’ award is defined as the song adjudged by the Academy, Board, and the General Public as the most popular Christian song commercially released in the year under review.
Ras Kuuku has released gospel songs such as ‘Me Mpaebo’, ‘Gyedie’ featuring MOGMusic, and his recent track ‘Tumi’ which features Broda Sammy.
