Abla Dzifa Gomashie, the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, has lauded the stage play *Ghana Must Go* as an essential cultural treasure in showcasing Ghana’s identity on the global stage.
The acclaimed play, crafted by respected playwright Latif Abubakar, was launched in Accra on May 15th. This initiative is part of *The Big Push Ghana Project* and is being presented in partnership with Globe Productions, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During her address at the launch event, Minister Gomashie highlighted the significance of the production in the government’s *Black Star Experience*, a cultural diplomacy initiative aimed at elevating Ghana’s creative prowess worldwide.
“The Black Star Experience is centered on boldly and purposefully showcasing Ghana’s identity, and ‘Ghana Must Go’ serves as a key medium for this. Through theatre, we are not merely entertaining; we are educating, inspiring, and fostering connections across continents through our unique narratives,” she stated.
The Minister portrayed the play as more than just entertainment, referring to it as a platform for education, national pride, and international cultural dialogue.
She encouraged all Ghanaians and stakeholders in the creative industry to come together in support of this initiative. “Let us unite in this effort, share our story, and embody Ghana’s aspirations, one performance and one audience at a time,” Gomashie urged.
