Lovers of reggae dancehall and classical music were treated to a captivating performance when Osagyefo, a talented reggae dancehall artist, took the stage with the Ghana Symphony Orchestra at the Marcus Mosiah Garvey Foundation Fundraising Gala.
Osagyefo, also known as Dennis Affram, delighted the audience with a unique fusion of reggae dancehall and classical music, backed by the Ghana Symphony Orchestra.
He performed two original tracks, “Live the Life You Love” and “Danger,” as well as a rendition of Nana Tuffour’s classic, “Odo Ani Nisuo.”
The event, held at the Gold Coast Restaurant and Cocktail Bar, commemorated the birthday of Marcus Garvey, a prominent Pan-Africanist, on August 17. The evening also featured a Steel Band performance.
Osagyefo, a Ghanaian reggae artist with international experience, has made a name for himself with his energetic stage presence and conscious lyrics that inspire listeners to stay positive in the face of adversity.
In a statement, Osagyefo emphasized the important role that musicians have in shaping society. “We need to use our music to uplift our people and speak truth to power,” he said.
