Ghanaian musician and entrepreneur Okyeame Kwame has thrown his support behind King Paluta for the coveted Artiste of the Year award.

In a recent Facebook post, Okyeame Kwame endorsed King Paluta by saying, “Artiste of the year. Signed sealed delivered. And he is wearing the love equation by Ok. Medaase.”

This endorsement has sparked discussions among music enthusiasts about who should clinch the Artiste of the Year title at the upcoming Telecel Ghana Music Awards.

Many believe that King Paluta’s remarkable visibility and hard work in 2024, including the release of three hit songs – “Aseda,” “Makoma,” and “Pop Champagne,” as well as an album and numerous high-profile performances in Ghana and abroad, make him a strong contender for the award.

While King Paluta has gained significant support, there are also advocates for artists like King Promise and Stonebwoy.

King Promise, who was a strong contender for the award last year, has continued to impress with his music. Similarly, Stonebwoy’s impact in 2024 has been applauded by music industry stakeholders, leading some to believe that he deserves another shot at the Artiste of the Year title.

The criteria for the Telecel Ghana Music Awards’ Artiste of the Year category require that the artist must have the highest audience appeal and popularity in the year under review, as well as having released a hit Single/EP/Album and received multiple nominations.

As the organisers of the TGMA are yet to release this year’s nominations, the speculation and anticipation surrounding the Artiste of the Year winner continue to grow.
