Okyeame Kwame thrills students at G.N.S Foundation’s sickle cell screening event

Ghanaian music icon Okyeame Kwame recently graced the students of the Shelter for Abused Children Facility/Vocational Institute in Osu with a powerful performance and an important message.

Headlining the Sickle Cell screening and awareness event on Friday, June 7, 2024, Okyeame Kwame teamed up with the G.N.S Foundation and the school to educate the students about the prevalence of Sickle Cell Disease in Ghana and the significance of early detection and management.

Known for his advocacy in health awareness campaigns, Okyeame Kwame mesmerized the students with his high-energy performance, incorporating his popular songs like “Woso” with modified lyrics addressing Sickle Cell disease.

His performance not only entertained the crowd but also served as a strong tool to engage the students and make the event memorable.

The event went beyond just entertainment, as medical professionals associated with the GSCF conducted informative sessions on Sickle Cell disease, its symptoms, and the importance of screening.

The guest speaker, Dr. Paul Enin, delivered an enlightening address during the event, while former Sports Minister Hon. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah gave the guest of honor speech.
