The Old Magistrate Court in Wawase, Obuasi East District, recently hosted a heartwarming event that showcased unity and harmony between members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
This unusual display of camaraderie took place during a peace concert organized by Catholic Voices GH, aptly titled “Ghana Asomdwoe”.
The event brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from the Ghana Police Service, civil society organizations, the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), clergy, media, and the general public.
The presence of these diverse groups underscored a collective commitment to ensuring a peaceful and secure environment as the country prepares for the upcoming 2024 general elections.
Attendees at the concert were treated to soul-stirring performances by Catholic Voices GH and their guest choir, Dom Peace Chorale.
The music resonated deeply with the audience, instilling a sense of patriotism and underscoring the importance of unity and collective responsibility in fostering peace.
Mr. Joseph Owusu-Addo, Executive Director of Catholic Voices GH, emphasized the critical need for peace as Ghana approaches the polls in less than two months.
He called on all stakeholders to prioritize peace and unity, stressing that violence and division have no place in the country’s democracy.
