Ghanaian musician and producer, Raphael Camidoh, is calling on stakeholders in the Ghanaian music industry to invest more in quality music productions, especially in video creation.

In a recent interview with Melvin Da Enigma on Luv FM, Camidoh highlighted the disparity between the thriving Nigerian music industry and the slower progress in Ghana.

He pointed out that the local industry invests less in their craft compared to their Nigerian counterparts.

Camidoh explained that Nigerian music investors allocate substantial budgets for shooting music videos, which can sometimes exceed the budget for a Ghanaian film.

This financial commitment to quality production has contributed to the success and growth of the Nigerian music industry.

The Ghanaian artist also emphasized the need for local investors to recognize the potential and returns from the music sector.

While acknowledging the growth in the Ghanaian music space, Camidoh believes more can be done to elevate the industry by learning from the strategies of their Nigerian colleagues.

Camidoh’s hit song, Sugarcane Remix, recently reached a milestone of a hundred million views on YouTube, making him the highest-viewed Ghanaian artist. This achievement underscores the benefits of investing more resources in one’s craft.

The musician shared that his passion for music was inspired by Akon and reminisced about his early days selling beverages in Ola Girls SHS in the Volta region while writing his raps.

Expressing gratitude to his fans and Ghanaians for their unwavering support, Camidoh advised upcoming artists and the public to find a unique edge to stay relevant in the competitive music industry.

“To find a spot, you need to find that unique thing that nobody else can do,” he stated.
