Afrobeats singer Kabba Sesay, also known as APRiilL, has expressed his admiration for the impact of Nigerian artistes on the growth of music in Africa.
In a recent interview with Sunday Scoop, he praised the likes of Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Rema for their contributions to the global influence of African music.
Signed to Law Music Records, a Sierra Leone-based record label, APRiilL is set to release an Extended Play album titled, Fans of Afrobeats. Highlighting the most memorable moment of his career, the singer mentioned his collaboration with American hip-hop group, Stetsasonic, as an unforgettable experience.
Looking to expand his musical horizons, APRiilL expressed his intention to work with Nigerian artistes in order to connect and spread the beauty of African music across the continent.
He also emphasized the challenges faced in the music industry, particularly the difficulty of gaining visibility and recognition without the support of a record label, but also acknowledged the potential of social media in helping artistes to be discovered and showcased.
