The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has put forward plans to engage content creators in promoting Ghana’s culture globally.
This initiative was revealed in the NDC manifesto launch in Winneba on August 24, 2024.
A section of the manifesto states, “We will support young digital content creators to develop contents that promote Ghanaian culture,” showcasing the party’s commitment to the creative economy under the leadership of Presidential Candidate John Dramani Mahama.
The manifesto outlines key promises for Ghana’s creative economy, including the establishment of a Creative Arts Fund to provide financial support to start-ups and existing creative enterprises.
The NDC also pledges to invest in capacity building and digital platforms to empower artists to create commercially viable content.
Furthermore, the party’s Tourism Infrastructure and Experience Enhancement Policy aims to enhance tourism by modernizing cultural heritage sites, developing new cultural centers, and offering diverse tourism experiences to attract both local and international visitors.
In addition, the NDC promises to prioritize inclusive cultural participation and protection through legal and financial protections for creatives, enforcement of local content provisions, and partnerships with the private sector to develop modern recreation facilities.
The party also intends to introduce ‘The Black Star Experience’ as Ghana’s flagship Culture, Arts, and Tourism brand, celebrating various disciplines and events throughout the year.
