Ghanaian spoken word artist and poet Nana Fredua-Agyeman Jnr. has put forward his latest album, ‘Wonder’, for consideration at the 67th GRAMMY Awards.
The album, which contains eleven tracks, features collaborations with notable personalities such as veteran actor David Dontoh, UK-based artist T. Monterisi (T./MO), Yaw Stone, and Nana Kwame Osei Sarpong (The Soulman).
The submission window for eligible works was open from July 17, 2024, to August 30, 2024, with the eligibility period spanning from September 16, 2023, to August 30, 2024.
All records released within this timeframe that meet the specific category criteria are eligible for nomination consideration.
Only registered media companies and Recording Academy members, including voting and professional members, are allowed to submit works for GRAMMY consideration, as per the guidelines set by the Recording Academy.
This marks the second time that Nana Fredua-Agyeman Jnr. has submitted his album for GRAMMY consideration.
In September 2022, his debut album ‘Ponder’ was considered for nomination at the 65th GRAMMY Awards in the newly created Spoken Word Poetry Album of the Year category.
A multiple award-winning writer, spoken word artist, and poet, Nana Fredua-Agyeman Jnr. has previously clinched three awards at the Ghana Association of Writers’ Literary Awards.
In 2023, he made history by becoming the first spoken word artist to sweep the Kofi Anyidoho Spoken Word category, winning first, second, and third place.
The nominations for the 67th GRAMMY Awards will be announced on November 8, 2024, showcasing the potential recognition of Nana Fredua-Agyeman Jnr.’s outstanding work in the industry.
