Budding Ghanaian musician Maya Blu has been left in shock after her record label, Lynx Entertainment, decided to part ways with her.
In an exclusive interview with Graphic Showbiz, Maya Blu expressed her surprise at the sudden turn of events but maintained that she holds no grudges against the label.
“It’s their label, and they can choose to take whatever decision that suits them,” Maya Blu said. Despite the unexpected nature of her departure, she emphasized that there were no signs of disagreement or issues with management prior to the decision.
Maya Blu was part of Lynx Entertainment’s new talents group called BDSM, which also included Saint Lennon and Kasar Music. The trio released a joint EP, Coming Soon, last year.
The Good Girl No Dey Pay singer revealed that she was blindsided by the decision to let her go, especially considering the progress she believed she was making under the label’s guidance.
Since her exit from Lynx Entertainment, Maya Blu has been taking her time to explore new opportunities and projects in the music industry.
She mentioned that she is currently working on new music and is in no rush to sign with a new label, preferring to take things slow and ensure she makes the right decision for her career.
Lynx Entertainment, founded by Richie Mensah, is renowned for being home to some of Ghana’s biggest music acts, including Asem, Eazzy, MzVee, KiDi, and Kuami Eugene.
