Multimedia Group’s Sweety Aborchie wins 2024 40under40 award for broadcasting

Multimedia Group journalist Sweety Aborchie has added another feather to her cap by clinching the prestigious 2024 40Under40 Award in the Broadcasting category.

The esteemed ceremony, which took place at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra, saw Sweety being recognized for her outstanding work in the media industry.

Sweety Aborchie, known for her commitment to excellence in journalism and her advocacy for young women through her initiative, Girl Getup Africa, has garnered widespread admiration for her achievements.

The 40Under40 Awards, held in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, aim to acknowledge Ghana’s most influential young leaders under forty who have made significant contributions to their respective fields.

Starting her journey as a news anchor on GTV Sports+ in 2016, Sweety made a return to the screen in 2022 and currently hosts the morning show on JoyNews, Ghana’s sole 24-hour news channel.

Her rise in the media landscape is attributed to her intelligence, charismatic presence, and dedication to storytelling.

Beyond her broadcasting career, Sweety Aborchie has made a significant impact through Girl Getup Africa, a non-profit organization focused on mentoring, skills training, and providing resources to young women.

With the upcoming annual seminar scheduled for November 2024, the initiative aims to inspire and empower even more women across the continent.

Sweety’s dual role as a media personality and advocate for women’s empowerment exemplifies her leadership, community development passion, and ability to inspire others.

The 40Under40 Awards, which are not only celebrated in Ghana but also in the United Kingdom, South Africa, and Kenya, are set to host their global awards in the United Arab Emirates in April 2025.
