Renowned Ghanaian musician Rex Owusu Marfo, better known as Rex Omar, has been selected as a representative for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at the upcoming Manifesto Debate on Creative Economy organized by Joy FM.
He will be joined by Sadiq Abdullai Abu, also known as Baba Sadiq, who is the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Okaikoi Central Constituency.
On the other side, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will be represented by Mark Okraku-Mantey, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, and Akwasi Agyeman, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority.
This event, set to take place on September 14, 2024, will bring together key stakeholders in Ghana’s tourism, arts, and culture sectors at the Joy Prime studio for the 5th edition of Joy FM’s Showbiz Roundtable.
The Manifesto Debate on Creative Economy aims to provide a platform for political parties to present their policy ideas concerning Ghana’s creative economy. The program will be broadcast live on Joy FM and Joy Prime from 2 PM to 6 PM.
Hosted by Kwame Dadzie and produced by Philip Nai and Anita Teye, the event is powered by Showbiz A-Z, Ghana’s most authoritative entertainment talk show.
Rex Omar, a leading figure in the Ghanaian music industry, also has a background in management and specializes in intellectual property rights.
He has served various roles in the industry, including Chairman of Ghamro (Ghana Music Rights Organization) and Vice President of the Copyright Society of Ghana.
In addition to his music career, Rex Omar has been active in politics, serving as an advisor to the National Democratic Congress and advocating for the development of the creative arts industry in Ghana.
