Renowned Ghanaian DJ and producer, Frank Ofori Nyarko, widely known as Master Que, has set the record straight on the misconception that he is just a scratch DJ.
In a recent interview on Culture Daily on 3 Music TV, Master Que emphasized that while scratching is a skill he excels at, it is only a fraction of his overall expertise in the field.
“I am not just a scratch DJ; it’s just one of the many skills I have mastered. I consider myself an all-round DJ,” Master Que clarified during the interview. He likened the situation to a smart student who is known for their exceptional reading abilities but possesses a range of other intellectual talents beyond that.
Master Que’s journey in the world of DJing began in 2002, with his official entry into the commercial scene in 2019. Since then, he has established himself as one of the most in-demand DJs in Ghana, gracing the stages of top-notch venues such as SkyBar, Mad Club, El Padrino, Kruna, and Mad Skies.
Not just limited to spinning records, Master Que played a pivotal role in introducing the Electronic Music DJ of the Year category at the Guinness Ghana DJ Awards and eventually clinching the prestigious award in 2023.
His influence in the electronic music scene has been profound, as he continues to push boundaries and shape Ghana’s dance music landscape.
Apart from his DJing prowess, Master Que has also made significant contributions to music production, notably working on projects like Kontihene’s hit song “Dedede.” His versatility in both DJing and production cements his status as one of Ghana’s leading figures in electronic music today.
