Music band Kwan Pa recently expressed their gratitude towards entertainment marketer Kwaku Osei Korankye Asiedu (KOKA) for his significant contributions to their career development.
During an interview with DJ Slim on Daybreak Hitz, the group’s guitarist, Ansah, highlighted KOKA’s invaluable support.
Ansah shared how he discussed the band’s vision with KOKA while they were both at Roverman Productions.
Impressed by their talent, KOKA generously provided them with a list of 40 media personalities to connect with, recognizing the potential in their music and wanting to assist them in reaching a wider audience.
This initial support from KOKA led to the band’s first media interview in 2017, which Ansah acknowledged as a pivotal moment in their journey.
He mentioned, “Our very first media interview came from one of the contacts KOKA provided us… Seven years later, here we are.”
The band also credited their inspiration to Dr. Sonudo, the leader of the University of Ghana’s Legon Palm Wine Band.
Ansah reminisced about watching Dr. Sonudo perform on campus, which fueled their decision to form their own Palm Wine band. This influence extended to their musical style, as the lead singer shared how Dr. Sonudo’s encouragement to incorporate modern songs inspired them to create Christmas songs.
Currently, Kwan Pa is gearing up to release their upcoming EP titled “Sweet Palmwine,” accompanied by a short film of the same title. The band’s dedication to their craft and musical growth is evident in their latest project.
