The sudden passing of Kwabena Kwakye, the Director of Radio at Oman FM, has prompted a response from the Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong.
Kwakye, who was known affectionately as Wofa KK, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at UGMC after collapsing while on the station’s morning show.
In a statement, Kennedy Agyapong expressed his deep sadness at the loss of Kwakye, who had been a long-serving member of his media group, KenCity.
Kwakye reportedly passed away at about 11:10am at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC).
While the specific cause of Kwakye’s death has not been officially confirmed, it is believed that he suffered a heart attack, according to reports.
Kennedy Agyapong expressed his surprise and sadness at the news of Kwakye’s passing, describing him as one of the longest-serving members of his media group.
A video of Kwakye’s last appearance on Oman FM has also emerged, showing him discussing the latest government reshuffle before his untimely death.
As Ghanaians mourn the loss of Kwabena Kwakye, his colleagues, friends, and family must find ways to come to terms with this tragic loss.
