Ghanaian actress and filmmaker, Kafui Danku-Pitcher, has been appointed as the Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority (NFA) Ghana. With a wealth of experience in the creative arts, tourism, and economic development, Kafui Danku-Pitcher is set to bring her expertise to her new role.
Having earned a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in English and Classics from the University of Cape Coast, Kafui Danku-Pitcher is currently pursuing an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) at the University of Ghana.
Her diverse skill set includes leadership, governance, expertise in the creative industry, communication, digital literacy, innovation, and building collaborative partnerships.
In addition to her work in the entertainment industry, Kafui Danku-Pitcher has also been involved with the UNHCR as a Repatriation Assistant.
This experience has equipped her with the ability to implement and monitor standards, conduct socio-economic surveys, and propose strategic solutions based on data analysis.
As an activist and Goodwill Ambassador, Kafui Danku-Pitcher has been a strong advocate for social issues, launching initiatives such as ‘Silence Is Not Golden’ to empower women to speak out, campaigning against child marriage, and supporting children with Kwashiorkor.
Her efforts have been recognized by the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) for Advancing the Role of Women in Politics, Peace, and Security.
With a passion for empowering start-up businesses through projects like the ‘Dream Achievers Project’, Kafui Danku-Pitcher aims to foster economic development and growth in the creative arts industry.
Her appointment as the Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority positions her to drive significant contributions to Ghana’s GDP and support practitioners in the industry.
