Article Wan has recently opened up about his statement regarding the quality of musicians who perform at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
A few weeks ago, the artist took to Facebook to express his thoughts, suggesting that the TGMA should feature artists who deliver truly memorable performances, rather than “jump and go” acts.
In a recent interview on Hitz FM with DJ Slim, Article Wan explained that he used the term “jump and go” to grab people’s attention. He stated, “I intentionally made it bold. I know our people like talking, they want to talk. So when I added the ‘jump and go,’ they started reacting. I’ve gotten your attention.”
The artist emphasized the importance of showcasing quality performances at the TGMA, stating that the front stage is often dull during performances.
Article Wan also admitted that when he performed at the TGMA earlier in his career, he was not impressed with his own act. He is now seeking a second chance to prove himself as a top performer.
Meanwhile, nominations for the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards are still open until Sunday, February 16th, 2025.
