Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have officially finalized their divorce and are now legally single individuals.
The divorce settlement was approved by a Los Angeles Superior Court judge on Jan. 6, with the official date of divorce set for Feb. 21. This comes after Jennifer Lopez filed to dissolve their two-year marriage.
The couple opted for mediation in September to settle their divorce, avoiding a lengthy court battle that many other celebrity couples have gone through. As part of the settlement, Lopez will no longer use the Affleck surname.
While specific financial details were not disclosed, it was revealed that neither party will pay spousal support to the other, and they do not have any children together, eliminating any custody issues.
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck tied the knot in July 2022, only for Lopez to file for divorce in August 2024, citing their separation over a year prior to the filing. Interestingly, this was their second time as a couple, as they had previously dated in the early 2000s before splitting up in 2004 due to factors including public pressure.
Affleck, who has three children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, finalized his divorce in 2018, while Lopez, who has been married four times, shares twins with singer Marc Anthony.
Despite their previous breakup and individual relationships, Lopez and Affleck reunited after two decades and exchanged vows, much to the delight of their fans.
Their divorce marks the end of a chapter for the Hollywood power couple, but both Lopez and Affleck are known for their resilience and ability to overcome challenges in their personal lives.
