Ghanaian composer and songwriter Jah Gun taps multiple award-winning afrobeats star Camidoh for a new banger, dubbed ‘Anita’.
The mid-tempo afro-dancehall jam shows Jah Gun’s impeccable raga style and Camidoh’s pacifying vocals.
Camidoh, who earned a nomination for the 2023 BET Award in the Viewers’ Choice: Best New Artist, offered ‘infectious’ hooks that strive to serenade even the toughest ‘baddies’ who play hard to get.
“Girl, I wanna make you mine/Give me your body to testify/Me and you fit multiply/We go make baby from four to five/All night eh,” Camidoh sings.
Jah Gun, on the other hand, dishes out sensational verses that can melt the hardest heart. He blends Patois, Twi and English in a way that appeases global audiences.
“I want [to] investigate/Will you corporate/I want [to] penetrate/Will you tolerate/Me bε twe wo mu/Te sε m’nya cigarette/Body no yε fine/Me bε tafere no te sε chocolate,” Jah Gun flawlessly delivers his first verse in both English and Twi. The rest of his verse infuses Partois and English.
‘Anita’ comes off Jah Gun’s forthcoming ‘Akokora-Kwajomu’ E.P. The upcoming body-of-work also features some top Ghanaian stars, including Jupitar, Tinny and Ponobiom (Yaa Pono).
The release date will soon be communicated, according to the Taifa-based artist.
Legally known as Felix Kwasi Selasi, Jah Gun, an old student of ST. Augustine’s College and Sunyani Technical University, has three things that keep him going in life, and that is: ‘hard work, dedication and perseverance.’
