The 25th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) has sparked criticism, particularly regarding the performances of artists at the event. One artist who has come under heavy scrutiny is King Promise, with many criticizing his vocal performance.

However, some believe that the poor sound quality at the event may have contributed to his less-than-stellar performance.

Artist manager Nana Poku Ashis has weighed in on the debate, stating that King Promise should not bear all the blame for the error. He emphasized that there were challenges with the sound at the event that also need to be addressed.

Ashis suggested that the organizers, Charter House, should hire more sound engineers to ensure better sound quality at future editions of the awards.

During a conversation on Joy Prime’s Prime Morning show, Ashis highlighted the need for additional personnel to provide support in various aspects of the event.

He stressed the importance of incorporating more sound experts to help enhance the overall quality of the sound.

In recounting an experience from years ago at Blitz on the Hills in Kwahu, Ashis compared the sound quality between Samini and Tarrus Riley’s performances.

He recalled a situation where Tarrus Riley’s sound engineer arrived late and had to tweak the sound for up to 30 minutes, resulting in a less-than-ideal experience for the audience.

Ashis urged the organizers to consider bringing in different hands for the sound setup in future editions of the awards to avoid similar issues.
