Ghanaian highlife sensation, Kuami Eugene, has recently opened up about the backlash he has received for collaborating on Sarkodie’s song ‘Happy Day’.

In a recent interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM, Kuami Eugene revealed that the song, which was actually released four years ago, has led to some negative reactions from music fans.

The talented artist expressed his frustration, stating, “I am still suffering for that feature. I have to explain myself for the rest of my life that I am not a part of it when it comes to being an NPP song.”

Kuami Eugene clarified that the collaboration was not intended to be political, but rather a creative conversation between himself and Sarkodie.

Despite his efforts to distance himself from any political affiliations, Kuami Eugene continues to face criticism and insults from the public. He recounted instances where people would mock him, saying, “You go sleep for UGMC, you no know say ebe Mahama build am.”

The controversial song, ‘Happy Day’, caused a stir prior to the 2020 general election for its mention of Nana Akufo-Addo’s Free Senior High School policy. Some listeners interpreted the song as a political endorsement, leading to a backlash against both Sarkodie and Kuami Eugene.
