Kwabena Kwabena Reveals He Started Valentine’s Day Shows in Ghana

Ghanaian musician, Kwabena Kwabena, has recently shared in an interview on Daybreak Hitz with DJ Slim that he was actually the pioneer of Valentine’s Day shows in Ghana.

The revelation comes after fellow artist Akwaboah cited Kwabena Kwabena’s event as the reason for the cancellation of his own 2024 Valentine’s Day concert, which was also scheduled for the same day and venue.

“I started organising concerts on Valentine’s Day before any other Ghanaian musician,” Kwabena Kwabena explained during the interview.

He added, “On the 14th of February 2014, that was the first time I did a Valentine concert. I called it F14.

So I started Valentine shows. And it shouldn’t be a problem that anybody wants to do some or wants to do an event on the 14th because I believe there are a lot of people out there who want to go out and have fun.”

Addressing the issue of claiming ownership of specific dates for events, Kwabena emphasized the importance of recognizing the contributions of artists. He stated, “No artiste should lay claim that it’s mine. I mean, it’s not fair.”

Furthermore, Kwabena Kwabena announced that he will be organizing a Valentine’s Day event at the Grand Arena on February 14, 2025.
