Ghanaian comedian DKB, also known as Derrick Kobina Bonney, recently shared his disappointment at not being able to meet President Nana Akufo-Addo despite his efforts.

Speaking on Joy FM’s Cosmopolitan Mix with aKorfa, DKB expressed frustration with the individuals who were supposed to facilitate the meeting.

“I made a request to visit Nana Addo at the Flagstaff House but it didn’t seem to work out. I don’t know why, but the people involved didn’t make it materialize,” he explained.

DKB, who takes pride in being the only comedian to have performed for all the Presidents of Ghana, is currently throwing his support behind the Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, for the upcoming December 7, 2024 election.

During the launch of the NDC’s Youth Manifesto soiree at the Bukom Boxing Arena on August 12, 2024, DKB expressed his delight when Mahama repeated two of his jokes on stage.

This unexpected gesture deeply touched DKB, who stated, “He’s captured my heart and right now I’m a presidential comedian.”

In a show of gratitude, DKB pledged to campaign for John Mahama, emphasizing the significance of the President acknowledging his jokes. “So right now, I am fully pushing John Mahama. It doesn’t mean I hate NPP,” he added.

DKB is not alone in his support for the NDC, as other entertainment figures like Big Akwes, Christiana Awuni, Mercy Asiedu, Jack Alolome, and Kofi Okyere Darko have also publicly endorsed the party for the upcoming election.
