Ghanaian electronic music DJ and producer, Frank Ofori Nyarko, professionally known as Master Que, has made it clear that he is not just a scratch DJ. In an interview on Culture Daily on 3 Music TV, he emphasized that while scratching is a skill he excels at, he is an all-round DJ with various talents.
“Being labeled as just a scratch DJ is a misconception. I have honed many skills over the years, and scratching is just one aspect of my craft,” Master Que explained. He drew a comparison to a smart student who is recognized for their great reading skills but is more than just that.
Master Que’s DJing career dates back to 2002, but he officially turned his talent into a commercial endeavor in 2019. Since then, he has become a sought-after DJ in Ghana, performing at exclusive venues like SkyBar, Mad Club, El Padrino, Kruna, and Mad Skies.
Beyond his DJ sets, Master Que has been a significant figure in the music industry.
He played a key role in introducing the Electronic Music DJ of the Year category at the Guinness Ghana DJ Awards and won the award in 2023. His influence has helped push the boundaries of electronic music in Ghana and establish a strong presence in the country’s dance music scene.
In addition to his DJing, Master Que has also made notable contributions to music production, including working on projects like Kontihene’s song Dedede. His versatility in both DJing and production has solidified his reputation as one of the most influential figures in Ghana’s electronic music scene.
