Ghanaian singer and songwriter, Oladimeji Oyekanmi, popularly known as Sugar, has revealed that his music is inspired by two iconic Nigerian musicians, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti and Majek Fashek.

The musician stated that both Fela and Majek Fashek were icons in their time, and he aspires to elevate his music to an iconic level just like them.

“Fela and Majek Fashek inspire me greatly because they were able to cross multiple boundaries with their music. Before Nigerian music started getting the global acclaim it is presently enjoying, those singers had been known all over the world. Contemporary artistes that inspire me are Davido and Olamide,” Sugar said.
