A new record label, Hometown Records, has been officially launched in Kumasi, Ghana. The unveiling and signing ceremony was led by Mr Fidel Idun Kuranchie, also known as DJ Kaxtro, who shared the label’s ambitious vision.
Hometown Records is dedicated to discovering, nurturing, and promoting local talents in Kumasi to help them reach their full potential.
According to DJ Kaxtro, the lack of proper label services and structures has hindered many talented individuals in the city from achieving success in the music industry.
The label aims to change that narrative by not only focusing on music talents but also signing other creatives to create a thriving ecosystem in the region.
During the ceremony, the label introduced its first signed artist, Ben Brainy, a talented musician and producer who graduated from the Takoradi Technical University.
Ben Brainy, whose real name is Benjamin Yamoah, expressed his excitement about joining Hometown Records and working with individuals he has known for over a decade. He emphasized that their vision aligns with his, making it a perfect fit.
