The All People’s Congress (APC) has outlined a series of strategies to support the growth and development of the creative arts industry in Ghana in anticipation of the upcoming December 7, 2024 election.

Dr. Hassan Ayariga, the flagbearer of the APC, emphasized the need for a collaborative effort involving artists, industry professionals, government, and other stakeholders to enhance the music industry in Ghana.

The APC has proposed a 10-point strategy to boost the music industry, including investing in modern studios and infrastructure, providing music education and talent development programs, and creating market opportunities for musicians to leverage digital platforms.

The party also aims to enhance production quality by establishing professional studios, promoting collaboration between artists and producers, and providing technical training for sound engineers and music video directors.

Furthermore, the APC plans to strengthen intellectual property rights by enforcing copyright laws, raising awareness about the importance of registering creative work, and providing legal support for licensing and royalties.

The party also intends to create platforms for music exposure through local and international festivals, collaborations with international artists, and increased promotion of Ghanaian music globally.

Additionally, the APC government will collaborate with the private sector to establish a music production fund, introduce export policies to facilitate international distribution and foster public-private partnerships to support artists and industry events.

The party also aims to build a strong music industry network through industry unions and associations, collaboration among stakeholders, and advocacy for artists’ interests.

To promote Ghanaian music on a global scale, the APC plans to use music as a tool for cultural diplomacy, focus on gaining international recognition through prestigious awards, and encourage diversification of music genres.
