Ghanaian music producer, Edward Nana Poku Osei, popularly known as Hammer, has made a significant announcement regarding his upcoming project, ‘Upper Echelons’.
Originally planned as a full-length album, the project will now be released as a six-track EP by the end of the year.
In an Instagram post, Hammer shared that the decision to switch to an EP format was influenced by his dedication to traditional collaborative methods.
He expressed concerns that sticking to these principles had caused delays in completing the album. Hammer specifically highlighted his disapproval of the modern trend of emailing beats, stating that it diminishes the creative synergy that comes from making music in shared spaces.
Out of the 13 songs originally intended for the album, Hammer revealed that six tracks are ready for release as part of the EP. The remaining seven tracks will be unveiled in three months under a new project titled “Roadmen”.
Despite these changes, Hammer is confident that the six tracks included in the EP will meet the heightened anticipation for his return to music. He expressed gratitude to his fans for their patience and unwavering support throughout this process.
