The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) recently hosted the annual National Tourism Awards at the historic Osu Castle Gardens, celebrating innovation and excellence in Ghana’s tourism sector.
The event, filled with glamour and appreciation, aimed to recognize individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions to the industry’s growth and resilience.
The ceremony, held at the serene Osu Castle Gardens, brought together notable figures from the tourism industry, including the Minister of Tourism, Arts & Culture, Hon. Andrew Egyapa Mercer, and his Deputy, Hon. Mark Okraku Mantey. Dignitaries, industry professionals, and agency heads under the Ministry of Tourism were also in attendance.
Hon. Florence Oboshie Sai Cofie chaired the event, with Togbe Dr. Crystal-Dzirackor, Group Chair of Crystal TV Group, as the Guest of Honour. A total of 36 awards were presented to individuals and organizations for their excellence in promoting Ghana’s tourism industry.
The awards covered various categories such as accommodation, food and beverage, entertainment, and travel trade. Notable winners included the Labadi Beach Hotel, The Royal Senchi Hotel, the Golden Bean Hotel, and Ashanti African Tours, among others.
The event highlighted GTA’s commitment to fostering innovation and excellence in Ghana’s tourism sector, in line with efforts to boost the industry’s post-pandemic recovery and showcase Ghana as a preferred travel destination.
The ceremony also honored individuals and organizations for their outstanding leadership, contributions to sustainability, and commitment to promoting tourism through various channels.
